Born in Bonn in 1978, I started studying classical guitar at the age of 6. The inclination to heavy rock music was already evident at that time and so the electric guitar came into play at the age of 11. After playing in several different hobby bands, in which I also tried out my first own compositions, I joined the professionally working band Insinerate at the age of 17. The band produced a demo and were offered a record deal with PSP, but after only 1 1⁄2 years the band broke up.
Shortly after, the position on lead guitar with the Cologne-based band Candela became vacant. The band recorded three demos over the course of 10 years, but suffered from line-up changes and different ambitions of the members.
In the meantime, I had started my own career as a musician, learned to play bass and also gained some experience on drums. I started to give private music lessons on guitar and bass and played several hundred gigs in Germany and abroad with different bands, mainly AC/DC cover bands and rock cover bands.
After a stroke of fate in the extended family and the realization that life does not last forever, I started to seriously work on a concept album that had been dormant for a long time. Existing song fragments were worked out and completely new music was composed. While the drums were recorded in an external recording studio, I set up my own studio. The learning and recording process took several years, but I finally completed the 10-song concept album THE TIME OF THE ASHES in 2020. At the same time, I also designed the visual concept and created the artwork for the booklet. It took another four years until it got released on Skytree Records, but now it is here for you to listen to and enjoy!
